Joseph Server & Associates, Inc. is owned and managed by Joseph D. Server, the second generation of business entrepreneurs. He is an MBA graduate of the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, U.S.A. However, the roots of the company can be traced to Burton Joseph Server Sr., or BJ, who started the work on innovation and entrepreneurship back in the 1940's. BJ was known for establishing and managing companies such as the Sta. Mesa Machinery, Inc., The Republic Flour Mills, Inc. (now known as RFM Corporation), Rizal Lighterage Corporation, Citytrust Banking Corporation, Premier Paper Corporation, Worldwide Paper Mills and the BJS Development Corporation.

He was the chairman of the Board of Directors of RFM and the other companies until his death in 1988.

His son, Joseph D. Server, has been managing corporations in the fields of manufacturing, garments, trading, exports, information technology, real estate and agribusiness. He is also credited with the rehabilitation and turnaround of several government corporations, namely the National Agribusiness Corporation, Philippine Genetics, Inc. and The Zamboanga Rubber Estate.
